Need some tips for my site

    Hi guys...I have a coupon site called www.smellthedeals.com and i have been exchanging links, submitting to directories and doing social bookmarking. I am very new to SEO so maybe a few pointers from the experts would help a lot in improving my site's backlinks and ranking...please? :confused:

    What's the keyword or keyword phrase your sites targeting?

    Use the keyword phrase you are targeting as your name and start blog commenting. Find 10 forums you like that allow signature links and your signature link needs to be a Keyword anchor phrase embedded with your sites url.

    Try wordtracker to find your keyword that suits for your niche.
    Submit your website to directories, have participate in forums and blogs, write articles in your niche like wise go on to find your success.

    you are doing well for starters. ranking depends on how well your site is optimized and how many backlinks you have. given that you did a good job with on-page optimization, all you need to do is to keep building backlinks.

    you are already doing directory submissions and SB submissions. other ways to build backlinks will be by commenting on dofollow blogs, article submissions, press release, setting up squidoo lens and hubpages optimizing with your keyword and linking to you site, etc. i would not sugegst link exchange as a method of link building. time is takes finding link exchange partners and managing the link exchange campaign, not to mention some will remove your links without telling you, benefit is very little

    oh...thank you very much! im glad that i was still on the right track :)


    I am using wordtracker and google tools like keyword suggestion tool ( i think that was on the adwords part).
    i am developing a module that could help me save time in adding/removing links and also adding meta tags for each site since i need to add metas for each page. :)

    I suggest to double you effort in optimizing your site, or you could write an article and create a blog for you to promote your site and then submit to social bookmarking site.
