I need some suggestions about the SEO for a site of mine. About 40 days ago I bought a blog commenting package that consisted of PR1-PR4 blog comments. Before I even got my report, within 30 days, my site appeared on the first page for 2 of the targeted keywords (12 million competing) and second page for the other 2. My first page rankings shuffled around for like 10 days on the front page and then moved to the fourth page. The keywords on the second page remained on the second page. The site has been registered for more than a year and has had a site since last summer. There weren't many backlinks prior (under 50). it has sufficient content, though I am adding a little here and there, not on the home page. My question is, with what I have done, what is the best strategy to move back to the front page? More blog comments, a different type of linking campaign? Did I mess up the site with too many comments at a time? Is the site damaged now? I figure due to the popularity of the blog commenting packages, these pages are probably getting too many outbound links losing their value. I just wonder if I can build off this.
In my opinion, blog commenting is not the best link building strategy. As blogposts get archived they often lose their PR. Good dofollow posts also get crowded quickly as you mentioned. Some blogs would not approve comments when they are obviously using a keyword instead of their name. You should diversify your strategies and get links from several different sources. Try some things like article submission, press release submission, forum signatures, social bookmarking, social networking profiles, directory submission, etc. Don't just rely on one source for your links.
Blog comments is good strategy but if you do blog comments everyday the search engine will infer the your are doing some spamy things. You must use different strategy example press release then article submission and bookmarkings or either directory and blog reviews. You should not focus on only one method for rankings/traffic. Go grab some web 2.0 rankings by using free web 2.0 sites such as squidoo, hubpages, etc. These websites rank incredibly well, are authority sites in googles eyes (trusted in other words), and you can put your content on their linking back to your website. Pure gold Cheers Tim
Yeah, i agree with Tim..Don't expect traffic from a one or two process, you need to perform all the process equally with a proper balance..Maintain some consistency in all of them, don't post 100's of posts in a single day..
Exactly, may be google fluctuate your website SERP's rankings. You need to wait for sometime after that start your efforts.
