Need some services for new blog... but what?

    I have a new blog and would like to generate traffic... TARGETed traffic. I want visitors that want to read the information.

    So what services do you recommend?

    I was thinking social bookmarking service would be needed first... good idea?

    Links would be second... good idea? question regarding links... is it going to HURT my search engine ranking if I use one of those 1k link services that put my link just anywhere? I want to raise my PR and search engine results...

    What other ideas? to get me some useful traffic for adsense and PR +...

    Thanks in advance!

    PS: please dont just recommend a service and offer to do it... I want useful ones for real.
