Can anyone tell me how to turn my pencil & paper drawing into a nice web graphic? I worked with photoshop here and there, usually finding tutorials to help me do what I want.. but I can't seem to find any info in this area. Thanks for any help =P
if your starting of with pen and paper your best bet is to take it in to illustrator first, trace over the image and tidy up the vectors - then put it through pshop pshop is a great prog but over the years I have found its far better to touch up great images, then to make bad images look good
What I would do is put the drawing on a background layer and make a new one, then use the pen tool to go over all the lines. (the pen tool in illustrator is extremely useful)
If you're making a website design from scratch, meaning you sketched out your ideas first, I guarentee that photoshop wont be able to work with your sketch. Use your sketch to lay out ideas, once that's done, work in photoshop with your own brain. If you're doing a character or 'lineart' sketch, deviantart is FULL of tutorials. Just search 'lineart' and you'll get tons.
Ink it, erase the pencil lines, adjust curves in photoshop, and then you can fill it and color it very easily. If you need more help with this feel free to contact me and I'll make a tutorial for you (I run a tutorial site and occasionally do requests)
Hi, - Scan your pencil drawing - Import it into photoshop - Adjust the contrast so its clear - Change the image size to - 1024 x 768 @ 72 DPI - Save - Create new blank layer - Ctrl r to show rulers - Drag out guides to suit your template - Start importing in your graphic elements by using new layers / groups - save - Use the slice tool to slice up your template, (view -> Snap to -> Guides) - save - Save for web - save your graphics and html to your web folder - Edit the exported HTML code with your favroute HTML editor (I use DW and Firstpage 2006) - Add CSS to give your tables borders + Styles - Save and upload to your web server - Enjoy and dont forget reps are always appreciated
Thanks for the help guys.. Ya, this is what I'm trying to do, I'll check deviantart out. Thanks. I would definitely love to have a tutorial for this. I'm trying to get my own sketched characters/into a webgraphic for my website.
I can do this today. Would you like it for Illustrator or Photoshop? (I prefer photoshop for this sort of thing)
