need some more help selecting a domain

I have narrowed my topic down and am trying to pick a domain now. I need to know some things. The site is going to be a resource for electricians and people needing electricial work done. It will have a listing of electricians by state(at first) and also have a listing of wire prices by state aswell(kind of like the gas price tracker, prices change a lot) then have a how-to section along with some other stuff. Also I may convert it to more of a DIY electrical site. Not rock solid first. To me that makes the first and second domain look the best.

Is "theelectricalresource.com" too long? I really wanted "electricalresource.com" but its taken.

    What about "theelectricalsource.com"?

    Would "electricallisting.com" sound better?

And I will have a list of domains available that all have the one word "electrical" in them.
You can go through them and see which will fit your needs.

Okay, go here and download the file that has all electrical domains available.

    Thank you.

I think both are too long and you ca be more creative. I would go with something more along the lines of evolted.com, wattedge.com, or ampedlife.com - all available. I always use instantdomainsearch.com to try to come up with ideas for domains, just keep trying until you find a good one.

try searching for your keywords at a domain search engine. The top ones are

    domainsbot.com
    pcNames.com

I tried searching for 'electrical' at both and the top two available domains I found for each were

    domainsbot.com: getelectrical.net, yourelectrical.com
    pcNames.com: electricalguide.net, electricaltraining.biz

Try it and see what you can find.

I'm not sure why you would want to to use "electrical" when it seems your visitors and potential customers will be looking for "electricians" and "electricians supplies". There may be other keywords as well that will give you the edge when people are looking for your service.

I suggest you try to think a little more from the point of view of your customers rather than creating any kind of brand and then trying to associate it with your product/ service. Using words that only have a vague connection is probably not that good an idea either.
