    hi all,
I need some Marketing help. i sell a spyware removal tool. one that is very specific - for removing MidADdle and ads234 spyware/adware.
i know this product is in demand (those F***ing spyware are taking over our computer). i also know that there are not meny competitors out there, technologicly (most of the removers can't remove MidADdle) or price wise (my software cost just 5$)

i tried google's adwords, and eBay an publishing on all of my other sites (i have a few ;) ) i get a few sales a week (2-4) and thats it but i can't get this software to take off.

any word of advice? where to advertise? how to? could you please check my site and say , market wise, GUI wise, is there something i should do to make it more clear? more atractive to the potential customer?

    my site is: Midaddle.net

    any advice will be welcomed.

    thanks,
    Joe

The site looks good to me, I went there with the pre-conceived notion that I would find one of those long pages full of spammy type content however your page is good. Perhaps the problem is that the tool is too specific...you might have to add other forms of spyware removal to it for people to pay.
I think people are looking for free tools to remove spyware and no matter how small the price don't want to pay.
I'm like that, I use five different programs to remove the spyware from my computer but if I found ONE that would remove all the various types of spyware I would gladly pay.

Another point is the price, I'm guessing that because it is set so low people think it is crap or there is a free version out there.....and how many people are willing to incur the bank charges that come with buying something worth $5. It doesn't matter that it is still only going to cost $8/10, it's the perception.

i thought about that i might be underbranding it. i'll have to give it a thought.

about the free software out there. to the best of my knowledge, there is no free removale tool that can successfully remove MidAddle.

I'd recommend releasing a shareware version - one with a 30 day trial before it locksdown. Give people a taste, if they like it, they'll buy.

Once you have a shareware version, post it to Download.com, TUCOWS, hotscripts.com, myzips.com, etc. These places will bring you the traffic.

I don't know spyware by name. Only "spyware". So to target MidADdle and ads234 would probably not be very productive. An educated customer is your best customer. You have to get them to your site for "spyware remover" and educate them as to why your program is better because you can revmove MidADdle and ads234.

Selling software online from authors that aren't well known, i.e. the big boys is difficult without offering trial versions. Setup a shareware version that looks for the MidADdle spyware but doesn't remove it. That way people that have that infection will likely be more apt to then buy it, and then submit it to the literally 1000's of download sites out there. That will get you all the exposure you are looking for.

    we actualy do that :)

if you look at the site, you can download the scanner version for free. and only when you want to remove you have to buy the remover.

is there anywhere a list of all the sites i can submit my software to?

I agree to roadies, It will make easier for you to sell If you will also post it to Download.com, Tucows and other software big boys. Those sites makes hundred thousands of traffics a day.

Go to ASP PAD Sites . They list many sites that accept submissions, plus you can search Google for submit shareware to find many more.
