My old proboards site is steadily recieving 90-130 uniques a day. However, all people do is look & leave I have a custom skin & banner on it yet people rarely register and post there. So, does anyone have any good ideas on what modifications I should add to it (remember proboards is kindof limited with mods...) or should I redirect everyone to a new forum & eventually lose the traffic coming from it?
Offer a new subforum which people would be interested, such as hacks for a game site, free game downloads etc and make it so they have to register to access this subforum/
Definitely change the look. No offense, but it looks horrible. The banner & skin can both be better, I'm sure.
I would actually combine some of your forums and subs. It makes everything look like it's spread to thin..
I think first you better change the appearance of your forum with a proper arrangement as MechPoint suggests its not a so attractive place for a user to stay.
There are two problems with your website. 1. Domain name is complicated. 2. Visitors do not register. Currently, you want to increase the registrations or sign ups. First of all, you should present a new registration form on the first screen. Make the registration Simple. List of games should be provided which can be played.
DUDE !! I got a popup as soon as I got to the site. The popup blocker blocked it but that was a MAJOR turn off. Anyways, You have too many sub forums. Reduce the number of sub forums to let visitors have a better look at what's going on.
Get a domain name and hosting, make it look like a "pro" site so people will sign up without fear of being hacked, or forum reset, or forum abandoned which usually occur in in free forum sites.
I've never had a popup from there in the 6 years that I've been running it. I go there at least 5-10 times a day. What's happening is that you are probably seeing a popup that was triggered by one of the advertisements from proboards. I have no control over these ads lol. And Saph, if I do that, I won't be able to transfer all of the members /posts
