Need some hosting/domain general advice

I have some experience blogging, have done it on and off for a couple of years using blogger. I am now ready to move into buying my own domain and hosting account, so I am just wondering what hosting service you might recommend? I am barely starting out, so the cheaper, the better, but something reliable for host. Is Godaddy the place to go for a domain name?

    Thanks,

    Eddie

Godaddy and Namecheap and probably Moniker as well are good for domain names. For hosting there are just so many options out there. I'd look at a web hosting review site.

I use Go Daddy. As for hosting if you want something similar to the blogger and blog style posts you can uprgrade to wordpress which is very similar but more customizable.

GoDaddy is the way to go. Cheap and reliable. If your are blogging with wordpress just make sure you get the Linux server. Wordpress files do not work with windows servers very well. There has been some issues in the past.

I mostly use NameCheap for domain registrations and HostGator to host my websites.
