This is quite intriguing to me. I'm seeking some design help in the form of a contest on this board. So far I've only had three people express an interest in participating even though I'm offering the largest prize of any of the current web design contest holders. I've seen other contests with much smaller prizes with many more individuals joining those contests. What gives? Because I'm always about self-improvement, if you don't mind, please tell me honestly what you think the problem is. Thanks. The link is: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=837154
Hmm well: 2) This website design consists of 6 pages total; preference will be given to sites with cool flash design, but flash alone will not determine the winner. A well designed non flash site will beat out a crappy flash site anyday. Kind of contradicts itself when you say "preference will be given to sites with cool flash design" but you then go onto say "A well designed non flash site will beat out a crappy flash site anyday" So preference will be given to cool flash sites even though they are crappy lol!
Yeah, I know that looks contradictory, but what I'm trying to say is that even though Flash would be nice, if an XHTML site blew the flash entrants away, I would be foolish to go with Flash. Generally speaking though, one of the things that Flash excels at is that it is visually stunning when done correctly. There are so many bad examples of Flash misuse out there right now though it's a travesty. That was my point. Do I need to clarify that somewhat (as I just did for you now) on the contest page?
