    hi

i am doing seo for my blog which is around 3 months old

doing some forum posting from the past few days

i was on 21st page and then slowly went to 20, 19 and then 18 and finally 15th

but today morning i was on 15th page and suddenly after few hours i got ranked directly on the 20th page.

why this happened ? is this a temporary fall ? what are your opinions and suggestions ?

    please help

    thanks

It is possible that it is a different datacenter showing you that ranking. What are you using to track your SERPS?

Ranking may change due to several reasons, one mentioned by Riboflavin; don't forget that your competitors may also be implementing some techniques to improve their ranks as well. You need to keep a watch on your competitors in order to be in the race.

Are you logged in your Google account when do the ranking search? If yes, then you will not get the proper result even in Google.com TLD. I suggest you to log out from all your Google account, clear cache and cookies and then do the search to find its ranking.

Alternatively, you can also use SEO Serp addon in Google Chrome at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ofoaoaloeipdofknnaapbmdddddioklg to check the ranking in your preferred TLD without concern of login/cache/cookies.

Assuming that you are doing proper ranking calculation, sudden drop in ranking back to original place indicates that your back link value drops in value. Are you creating forum post from one forum only? Have you tried posting forum posts on several forums? Is the link in signature is dofollow value? Only dofollow link will show effect in Google search ranking. Try to get other type of back links instead of forum back links like blog links, commenting, contextual links, link exchanges, social bookmarks, twitter, facebook, etc as you will see more steady ranks.
