Need some help with affiliate marketing via AdWords

I'm doing some affiliate marketing in AdWords, targeting specifically pay per install affiliates to sign up under my referral ID. Now, I'm getting tons of clicks, but not many are actually continuing to sign up after clicking. Probably 2% are actually signing up.

My ad is clear: "Earn $X.XX Per Install"
    "Earn the Highest Payouts in"
    "The Industry, Join X"

so every click is highly targeted by someone who has some interest in being a pay per install affiliate, presumably. so any idea why the conversion rate is so low from click -> sign up?

Any feedback would be great thanks!

    Hi,

Google adwords is actually not the right place to advertise your affiliate program. There are lots of affiliate directories and affiliate forums where you can promote and get good affiliates to join your program. i advise not to waste your money in google adwords to get affiliates because it will never work.

2% to 7% is normal conversion rate for adword, may be u need to focus on selecting more effective keywords, don't just be focus on your ads.

Certain keywords usually have a less conversion rate, try to use keywords like "pay per install affiliate programs" and so on, avoid using broad keywords they usualy have a less conversion rate, always use phrase and exact keywords..:)

Yep, the keywords are probably the issue. Granted, that is a normal conversion rate, but it might be wise to look for Commercial Intent type keywords. There are plenty of people that want to utilize a program like yours, and they do search for it. Try narrowing your dig as well.

It's possible you're just one keyword away from a huge conversion increase.

    Good Luck~

Google don't allow affiliate links in their adwords campaign.
    Better off trying facebook adverts.

Hi thanks for all your feedback :)

My Google AdWords campaigns are practically free, as I simply make new accounts + apply $100 vouchers to them. I'm surprised to hear that AdWords isn't a good place to find affiliates.

I'd assume that a forum like this is the most ideal venue for getting affiliates to sign up, but I actually paid $25 for 10K impressions for digitalpoint ads (not sure if thats the exact price/amount, but something like that) and I didn't get ONE sign up!

I've been reading around and I see that some people offer $.25-$.50 per signup for affiliates. Would it be wise for me to make a thread in the marketplace promoting this idea? I wouldn't mind paying for sign-ups.

Any feedback would be great thanks.

This forum really focuses on advertising using AdWords - as opposed to the subject of advertising as an affiliate. I hope that distinction makes sense, but bottom line this forum will not be an effective place to learn about 'good' affiliate programs that you might want to consider.

Yes that distinction does make sense and thank you. What would be an example of a good place to advertise then? I've contacted the owner of www.pay-per-install.com and he's slow to reply. I don't know of any other webmaster-based forums other than this one

I plan on opening a site similar to that and building it up, but that's my long-term plan.

There are many way to advertise (not only adword have ppc program)
I think Facebook Ads also work great (Very Targeted Ads) but it's costly

    Please check it

I'm confused as to why Facebook would have a better conversion rate than google... People browsing facebook are typically in social-mode, not money-making mode. Google, on the other hand, has a consistent flow of serious webmasters who are looking for programs they can make cash from.
