Hi dp'ers, I wanted to test some vps software for my new windows server, can someone recommend any software to me. The server is a Windows server 2003. Peter
Peter, your question is unclear. I understand your question as follows: you want to test software on your server but you do not know what software you want to test. So...why do you want to test software that someone else recommends?
well in vitualisation is a lot od software available, so i asked what is your best expierence in regards with these software.
Ah, so sorry. I misunderstood. I'm not too familiar with Windows virtualization software as Linux is much more popular in this areana. I do know however that Virtuozzo and VMware run on Windows. I have only personally used VMware out of the two and it was very nice. You should note though that if you are planning on selling VPSes, you cannot use VMware due to licensing restrictions.
VMware and Virtuozzo are most popular for vps software. There is one another software available called HperVM (not HyperV which comes with Windows 2008 server) but I think it is not 100% compatible with Windows OS. Kailash
