Im about to start diving back into adwords Now the latest changes to adwords makes me really nervous it seems as though google wants to take out all private advertisers and go completely corporate. Problem is that I am an affiliate, and well that's who google seems to be pounding on the most. I would like to put up a few review pages/sites and can you guys give me some help to avoid googles latest crack down. I honestly hope MSN/ Yahoo give google a good run for its money and slap it's ass back into reality that they only know so much about the internet. Well we can all dream cant we? What kind of things on my website will get me past the human review? Rescources page? Articles? etc. any help would be much appreciated. I do understand that too keep on google you need to get a high CTR but getting there seems like a mine field which you have to crawl through, while a PHD at google takes a bunch of grenades and keeps throwing them at you because apparently he knows more about your industry than you. It sucks. But as much as I would like to complain I do know it's a business decision that is in thier best interest, and well i just want to know what I gotta do to be profitable. Thanks Alot Guys!
The bottom line is that google wants to provide a good resource for users - if it's cracking down on affiliates, it's because users are complaining about clicking links and finding they are at a page that doesn't match what they are looking for. So, the more content the better - reviews, articles - just don't go straight into sales pitch and a link to another site.
1. Hide your affiliate links. You dont need to cloak, just redirect. I use a subdomain (they're free at most hosts). Example: bluewidgets.visit-their-site.com is redirected via your CPanel to your affiliate link. The google bots dont follow the link, but will definitely recognize one by its format.
