Images? Or pages? Google takes time to index all pages completely, some get indexed quickly and some take more time. Also you may want to check for duplicate heading/meta descriptions/content etc. Signup to google Webmasters and see if that gives you any errors etc.

How old is your site? It takes some time to get properly indexed insearch engines if the site is new.Better make an account in google webmasters tools to know about the index status of google.

Google loves more big images than small ones. Make sure you upload high quality images to help it get indexed fast. :)

Google is now reporting count of <loc>...</loc> instead of <image:loc>...</image:loc> in image sitemaps... You can check the bottom of this image sitemap tutorial for how to create a test case that demonstrates this problem in Google Webmaster Tools. Just mentioning this in case that's what also hit you. (Google showing count of <loc></loc> instead of images count)
