I'm doing my keyword research but I've hit a wall. I have a website in the candy niche that needs some SEO work done. I am targeting candy manufactures and retailers specifically. I don't want keywords that are going to attract everyday candy consumers. The problem is, I need such specific keywords that I'm pretty lost on what the candy manufactures and retailers would be searching for. If anybody could help me that'd be great!
Have you tried going to Google and entering candy manufacturer or candy retailer in the search box, then enter those URLs into Google's keyword tool?
I tried that but those are very broad terms, I'm having trouble getting specific terms. After some research, those sites are targeting consumers and I can't have that.
Have you tried going to thesaurus.com and searching for "wholesale", bulk, etc. and using those synonyms by adding those to the consumer keywords? Something tells me there won't be a huge number of searches, but with enough you might be able to generate some traffic.
Thanks for the tips! Although, I'm not worried about traffic, my goal is not to drive a whole bunch of traffic to the site, I need to make sure the companies that are running ads on my website are happy with the traffic. What I mean by that is: let's say Hershey comes to me and wants to place an ad on my site, they don't care if consumers see it, they want potential retail clients to see it. I need to have keywords that specifically target the marketing firm at some confectionery manufacturing company or a candy supplier. Is there any other marketing tactics that you think would be better for this?
