Hey I am trying to get my boss to let me do all the web side of things for the comapny and thing the best way is to do a presentation. Does anyone have any ideas? or can anyone help me?
Create a highly interactive PowerPoint Presentation in web-design form with plenty of links to many different things (graphs, charts, documents, websites, photos) all related to your work on the web and why you'd be the best pick for handling this job. Make it bold and make it attractive but don't overload it. 10 - 15 slides is the cap you'll work with. Do a step-by-step on one slide - instructional portions of presentations can win big. Make it simple enough to do in a couple of minutes, but complicated enough in content so that your boss wouldn't know how to do it him/herself. Go through the steps and explain how that's just ONE way you'd be able to boost productivity on the web-end of the business you work for. Next, be sure to analyze current productivity versus productivity under your proposed command. Find areas that need improvement currently with your business's web presence and estimate an educated value. Compare that with what you plan on doing and what you'd reasonably estimate the value of your work and skill to be. When presenting this, take a WHOLE NEW APPROACH to PowerPoint presentations. Don't stand up, talk, then click the button to make stuff pop-up. That's been done. Instead, allow your boss to review the presentation in your presence. Script out a few general but LEADING lines for each slide that you'll be saying either while you're sitting next to him, OR, if you can pull it off, do it while BEHIND him. These words are GOLDEN. The slides will be doing all the talking and explaining but what you're saying should be doing the real selling work. He'll be blown away and he'll promote you fo' sho. Jason
The thing is they run 20 websites companies and one of them is a software comapny which is quite poor. This company has built all the websites in a CMS system which doesnt allow you to directly edit some bits. I am just not sure what to say
