Hi everyone, I recently posted my site for review but did not get much response.. I have net been a member very long but recently i have lost so many hrs on this forum You guys really know your stuff!... so i thought i would ask for some subjective advice about my site... I am very keen to make it better so all opinions would be considered... I have an info site with lots of content... are my ads placed ok, are they relevant/readable, do they invite clicks? .. if not, any advice on how to improve... I am currently getting about 90-100 uniques / day but normally not even 1 click? Thanks in advance for your help everyone!!
Dude, just use your psychic powers. I've already used mine and I can tell the OP that it's looking good! Way to go!
Actually, I have a great site that gets infinite CTR... I display zero ads, so zero clicks / zero impressions = infinite CTR! That is way better than this guy's site, and I never have to check my adsense account.
I got this from my crystal ball: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=83830 But what amazes me is that the only advice you got (good one) wasn't implemented: "My never dying tip: 1. Remove the landing page 2. Put a large rectangle on top of every page 3. Put a wide skyscraper on the left of your pages 4. Put G search boxes on the top of the large rectangle 5. Put a link unit on top of the search box So here's how it will look like 160..........................Link Unit Ad Ad Ad Ad x................................Google Search Box (center) 600............................Large Rectangle Ad (center) Wide Sky Scraper " So unless you want to change the layout like advised, I see no point in talking further.
Eh, if the guy is too lazy to post his URL twice, then I'm too lazy to waste my time making suggestions.
OMG...Sorry people... Not too lazy, made this post during lunch break and did not have much time, the URL is: www.masked-millionaire.com Belive me, i do appreciate your help! Many Thanks
1. add link unit under that black head (not on your face) 2. you can't have Adsense and Clicksor on the same page.
I don't know if I agree with the blending idea always. I personally think you need a complete webpage overhaul. At the moment, there is absolutely no reason to click on those ads under the banner. If I wasnt looking for those ads I would have never seen them. My eyes went to the first line of content. With your website being one column it's so easy to ignore the ads. I think maybe you should change the color on your top adsense to stand out a little, or at least, put adsense links underneath it.
I do agree with your observation, when I visited the site again without directly looking for the ads, I noticed that my eyes completely skipped over them.
I will give you my own best advice but you probably will not listen, maybe because it'll seems too much or for another reason, although it' so easy to test my suggestion for a few days and revert if it doesn't work: instead of your 468x60 banner put 3 large 728x90 leaderboards with the colors you use at the moment, then put a google search box all in one line and finally put a 728x15 adlink with link color set to black. Here you go, try it and enjoy, or do nothing and please stop asking for advices. ps: I should stress that you should use alternate_url in all 3ads units and the link unit, with the collapsing units script given bygoogle, so that if there's not enough ads to display, you don't show public service ads, instead it will give you back the unused space.
