I use Google Analytics on my all websites :)
Now one day out of curiosity i checked my Awstats and now m a little dazed/confused

    IN AWSTATS ,the stats are:
Day Number of visits Pages Hits Bandwidth
    01 Dec 2010 315 941 1498 173.30 MB

means 315 visitors and 941 pageviews?

    while in google analytics....
    i have
    146 Visitors and 569 Pageviews

    what is the difference???
Google analytics is placed on everypage except the admin panel
and no i didnt access admin panel the full week almost!
    anyone who can explain?

There will be obviously difference in aw stats and Ga analytic,
one of the main reason is AW stats tracks website stats from the web server, it picks up server calls from search engine crawlers and that in itself makes a huge difference in your stats. (it means google crawling your website is also counted in aw stats)
while GA only counts the real traffic.
    :)

analytics is javascrupt based and requires browser to register a visits (bots and crawlers do not execute javascript, thus not registered in analytics)
awstats is purely server based and counts both bots/crawlers and real visits
