Depends if you want to come out with huge profits or not. Web hosting is a monthly expense that I pay $60 a month for.
hey mikey1090, i saw ur web hosting list and i picked the top rated hoster, they offer very nice services and for only 4.95/mon i can afford that. is that hoster good? and i can also register a domain.
Dude, seriously...free hosting? free domain registration? don't know what cPanel is? and don't want to spend more than $60? I think you should spend the $60 and invest it in some more articles to sell in your PLR packs and forget the whole directory idea. Running a directory takes time and is not a way to make quick and easy money. Since your questions indicate that you have not run a website before, I would strongly recommend you take some of those PLR articles, rewrite them and build a small content site. Learn some of the basics of running a small site before trying to have a database-driven site that requires constant work like a directory does. I think you will quickly get too frustrated if your first ever website is a directory.
oh ok, i see, i will consider all comments. i know that building a directory takes time, which i do have, but i was not particularly looking for making money, but expanding a directory. anyways i just became active on these forums a few days ago and looking forward on learning more. i will make some more cash in the hundreds before opening a directory. i guess the project will take its rest for now and i will focus on the content site YMC proposed. thx for everyone who contributed on this thread. for now just wish me luck. bye.
