hi, I'm planning on buying a domain, which is similar to something like "mambo", "jambo", "rabbo", etc. as you can see, it's pretty easy to pronounce these kinds of domains and there's a good chance for developing a brand under these kinds of names. however, I e-mailed the registrar and his asking price was $2,000, which seems a bit steep for me (still trying to negotiate) and there are no traffic stats on the name. so my question is, if in the end, he doesn't negotiate for any lower, and I decide to buy the domain, would it be highly possible that I could resell the domain for the same price as well? also, I've looked into SEDO for transferring the domain name and my question is, if the domain is bought and transferred using SEDO, can I pull it to GoDaddy afterwards? thanks.
I believe value on domain names depend on finding a client willing to pay the asking price. You can register a crappy name but if you find a crazy buyer, he can pay you a fortune when the real thing is that such name only worth the reg price
Hard to say without knowing the name. The will transfer it from the current registrar to your prefrerred registrar.
mm ok thanks. I'm no longer interested, 2K seems a bit steep for me. the domain name I wanted to buy was Blabbo.com
