So I currently work at Starbucks and have been for almost two years now. However, I have web/graphic design skills as well as a passion for them. I also really want to learn a lot of other techniques and languages but not enough time! I've been trying to find for a job on Craigslist but the problem is:

    1) Either it's full-time (does not work with my school)
    2) they simply don't call me for an interview
    3) not enough web design positions

I already have a portfolio online so which is sort of a business but I have not at all offered my services because I am too busy with school and working at Starbucks. My question is, what do you think I should do? I've been thinking about quitting starbucks and try my best to find places to offer my services therefore I'll start making money.

The nice thing is that I don't require that high of an income ($300 every two weeks?). So my questions come down to these:

    1) Would it very hard to get web design jobs going if I quit starbucks?
    2) Where is the best place/how to offer my services?
    3) Overall, what do you recommend I do?

Thank you and I really will appreciate all the advice.

I definitely like the idea of being a freelancer! I'll google some but are there any top freelancing websites that you would recommend I should put up?

    Thank you!

Being a freelancer will definitely give you the freedom to work as much as you need in non-design jobs until you get enough experience and a good portfolio to work as a full time graphic designer.
Never give up what you really love doing, no matter how hard it is. It is just about you being persistent and going after your goals.

    - Yes, web design is in high competitive now. it is hard for you to beat the member from certain country, they are offering very cheap price because of the different living standard

    2) Where is the best place/how to offer my services?
    - Web related forum and freelancer site. Or/And make your own website with some sample

    3) Overall, what do you recommend I do?
    - If you think you are really good and able to find customer, go ahead. Else, stay at starbucks

Starting our own business with a company website with plenty of reviews and a huge portfolio. That is the best way to go :) But make sure you have enough initial start up funds to start a project like this. I would say, have a bankroll of at least $1,000 plus to get everything rolling.

    $100 for a nice website
    $100-$300 for advertising
$600 to hire a outsourced worker to do little things that take up too much time so you can work on bigger things. This would literally pay for over 100 hours of work from a talented outsourced worker/helper.
