    Hello DP Friends,

I need a advice on idea generated for online website.

Well I have an idea to develop one website , its purely for internet purpose nothing related to product or service, lets says example like google or hotmail , where no real physical product is involved

Well now my query is : I am afraid that once I hire a developer or lets say i sign a NDA with the developer and then later on when i start marketing it, I am afraid that anyone could copy it and create their own similar website and i will loose my originality

So How do I protect my idea, First case would be hiring a developer, so how do i ensure he doesnt sells my idea or use it or whatever

Secondly, How do I make sure once my website is ready and developed , I dont allow others to copy it without my concern or knoweldge.

Is there anyway to safeguard my idea , Please advice

    Thanks,

You can't stop imitators, or protect the idea once your site is up, but you can take steps to protect your code. NDA's are only meaningful if you can enforce them. You have to know and trust your developer. It's best if you can find a developer in the same city, state or country - it will make it much easier and less expensive if you have to take them to court.
