Ok, In short I am trying to get a domain that is soon to drop/expire... I already have this backordered in Godaddy, here is some of the whois info: Registrar: GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC. Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com Referral URL: http://registrar.godaddy.com Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK EPP Status: clientDeleteProhibited EPP Status: clientRenewProhibited EPP Status: clientTransferProhibited EPP Status: clientUpdateProhibited Updated Date: 16-Jul-2006 Creation Date: 11-Jul-2004 Expiration Date: 11-Jul-2007 It recently changed, does this mean the old owner has renewed it? Or is it just part of the delete process. If I am backordering a domain that is expiring through Godaddy is it needed to backorder elsewhere? Thanks in advance for the advice. Shane
This means the owner has renewed the domain. So better luck next time. The Domain is renewed up to 11th July 2007 now IT
That happened to me with a name I had backordered through GoDaddy. It was a part of the backorder process. Next it went up for auction on the GoDaddy website tdnam.com You will have the high bid of $10 plus $8.95 registration fee. Everyone will have the chance to bid for seven days. The highest bid at that time wins it. That's what happened in my experience.
So when I backordered it they basically just extended the reg period? Makes sense that way they sell it to me, or renew it for the existing user if they choose too. I don't like the auction thing. Why even offer backorder if they put it up for auction. Thanks for your first hand experience.
