Hi I'm not sure if this is out or if someone has made this script. But I need a search script that when you search for products doesnt matter what. It checks all those price comparision websites out their and pulls the products to my page... Is this possible and if so how much would it cost. pm me
Is it possible? Yes. Is there one freely available, nope. But since every website is formatted differently, it's a bitch to code the way you are asking. What is common these days is to build a script that will work with datafeeds from an affiliate network like Shareasale, where you can download hundreds of product feeds in the same format and import that into your site. Once you get it working for one site it will work for all sites in their network. I had a script doing this a few years ago, with 10 merchants I had around 150,000 products in the database that was updated daily.
I know i wont get it free. Im Willing to pay. I just want a script that would search all of those sites and find the best deals from them and put to my site. Would this be possible. What do you think it would cost? Could you help me?
What site specifically do you want it to search? I'd have to look at the page coding before saying if I could do it.
SELECT * from searchtable WHERE searchname LIKE '%$_POST[searchquery]%' Code (markup): searchtable - mySQL table searching for searchname - mySQL column you are searching through searchquery - what user is searching for
ebay's got an api that you can tap into quite easily. Other than that, you'd have to be pretty niche oriented to put something like this together and it be worth it's salt. Lots of random queries to different sources will slow the site down immensely. Also pulling from sex shops won't work so well on your disney product search site. It's doable but you're going to be better off posting a general idea of your niche & what specific places you want to pull products If you want it general and to include everything ... It's just not happening on a reasonable budget.
I would like to mainly pull from sites like these http://www.pricegrabber.com/ http://www.bizrate.com/ http://www.pricescan.com/ http://www.dealtime.com/ http://www.pricewatch.com/public/ http://www.mysimon.com/
You do know that most of those are datafeed sites right? They use the same technology I described above.
