Need small cgi script installed. Can you help?

I want to install a (small) cgi script on my site.
Unfortunately there's no installation guide included. I tried, but can't get it to work.

A helping hand would be great.

There may be a newer, better php based vesion to serve the same function. Some of the older CGI stuff does not work well, though I seem to recall that this works okay.
