Need shopping cart recommendations with "attributes" "product narrowing"

Does anyone have any suggestions for a shopping cart system that has advanced search narrowing filters?

Most shopping carts allow you to categorize into groups. For example 'Mens shoes"

But this may show 500 results. Are there any platforms that allow me to assign attributes like "narrow your results by" size, color, brand, use (running, gym, basketball, etc)

    Anyone have any ideas?

i had the same problem when setting up a cart using zencart, which was great (but it isn't for the faint of heart).

what i did (since i did use a dropdown top navigation bar, along with sidebars displaying the categories), was:
    1. use one of the nav bars at the top and call it "sort"
    2. underneath that, put a category, for your example, let's call it "shoes"
    3. underneath that category, create another category called "men's shoes"

so what you get is your own sorting system. that was the fastest way i could do it without having having to mess with code.

Virtuemart supports product attributes and with some programming skills you can modify the product searches as per your needs. For a few bucks you could hire a freelancer to code you a custom search with different attributes. I'm not familiar with the latest version of Virtuemart, they might even have improved their search function and how products can be sorted in their product browse pages.

I believe BigCommerce allows product attributes, you can check their full feature list and find out. I also believe Magento and Shopify also have this feature for their shopping carts as well. You'll have to check their full feature list as well to verify though.
