Need services of a reliable programmer

I am trying to instal a simple Php mail script,it worked with hostgator,but when i moved to a dedicated server with the planet,does not function.Script is able to install but cannot function.

If you think you understand what the planet said please IM me with your yahoo IM so we can conclude.

do you have any firewall running.. ? firwall may have problem for adding port for mail ..
