links from sports forums will help. links from directories under the correct headings will definitely help to drive traffic as well.

 

First, don't give up on the articles that were rejected. Article directories will let you resubmit and should tell you why they did not accept them. Most of the big name directories won't let you use duplicated content. You must submit unique articles to the big names, like EzineArticles.

Look for big local names in sports blogging. Connect with those bloggers on Facebook, Twitter, and email & I promise you this method will get you the most "link juice" vs. any other back link method.
