Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone with more SEO knowledge then I have could explain this to me? Supposedly in Google back links are a major portion of serp rankings especially relevant back links. However, if this is true how can the website espexhibits.com with a total of 9 back links indexed in Google be ranked number 2 for the search term San Diego trade show displays? While my website http://www.exhibeportable.com has 44 back links indexed in Google is nowhere to be found? Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
First, it's not just a matter of how many backlinks a page has - it's also a matter of where those links come from (e.g., PageRank of the linking page, how many other outgoing links are on that page, etc.) as well as the anchor text in those links - PLUS how well your page is optimized for that specific search phrase.
I am still at learning stage and one lesson i previously learned is that Google don't display all backlinks in order to tease SEOers.
Go for quality backlinks of high PR well established websties. A few of those are better then a 100 new PR 0 websites
Serps are determined by a lot of factors not only the amount of backlinks. If I'm not wrong your PR is 3 while theirs is 4,you should look into that matter. Also including the words 'San Diego' in your title an targeting it into your content would help your rankings.
Uh-huh. Except if the high PR sites you want to exchange links with feel the way you do, they probably won't be interested without a chunk of cash. The other problem with your logic is that ALL new websites have PR0 if you go by public (Toolbar) PR. Depending on who links to those brand new "PR0" websites, what are they going to show the next time public PR is updated?
