My site Explore Web Hosting is doing very poorly with it's SEO. So far, only 4 visitors have come to my site from search engines. The words that brought them here were: pill (doesn't make sense) basics of hosting how to find good web hosting package? globat web host slow speeds What am I doing wrong? What words should I target. Can anyone help me? I'd appreciate it, thanks.
Hi websurfer23 your website seems to have no keyword meta tag or robots meta tag these might help in search engine indexing. Did u disable adsense? but these are no substitute for traffic generation like linking, article submissions. The articles are good.
Ok. I'll work on trying to add meta tags, and hopefully linking. Only problem with linking is, as of right now, my pagerank is not available (My site is pretty new).
First have an metatags. Be sure to do some keyword research on your subject, and make sure to put that word in your metatag title (title) and also in metatag description, and metatag keyword metatag. And also be sure to write an content article about that word (make content niche) and paste that article in your site when your metatags is in html, and be sure to have that keyword included in your article (first text of your content). If you do this you will get traffic from that and also rank high whit time in searchengines and also traffic. Google boots spiders out there they always look att the Title of your website so (MAKE A GOOD TITLE), and also description. This will get your site indexed, but it takes some time. Hope this helps, good luck to you
The title tag, I have found, is the single most important factor. Pick that very carefully to include your targeted keyphrases. If you are clever you can integrate several. However, word order is critical-a site which ranks for one combination may not rank at all for a very similar phrase.
On-page optimisation is certainly important - but you also need to think about the fact that you currently only have 5 indexed links pointing to your site (all from the google groups help group) Dylan
I have some from here, right. And I think I submitted an article in an article directory. I think it's because I'm using variations; explorewebhosting.com www.explorewebhosting.com etc. Should I not be doing that?
This link will show you links to www.explorewebhosting.com http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/advsearch?p=www.explorewebhosting.com&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=u This is to http://explorewebhosting.com http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...com&bwm=i&bwmf=u&bwmo=d&searchbwm=Explore+URL You need to make sure that you pick one or the other. At the moment the link love is being divided - and you also risk duplicate content issues as each iteration is indexed separately. Dylan
Either is appropriate- you should then 301 redirect the one you do not choose to the one you prefer - that will ensure that any link love you have already accumulated is properly passed on - it will also minimise any duplicate content penalties. Many sites choose the www version - but that is more indicative of convention than any real technical reason. Dylan
What do you mean by title, does that have to contain key words Would you be able to expalain what is meant by perfect title?
One thing that you have to remember is that Web Hosting is a huge Niche on the internet. Thousands of websites that are much older and more established than yours are already out there with teams of SEO experts dedicated to improving their site. While I'm not saying your site cant become popular, I am saying that this niche has tons of competition.
SEO has two important factors namely On Page and Off Page Optimization, try to focus on this two method and creation of unique content will improve your rankings in search engine. Use Social Media as a medium in increasing your website's traffic.
