I am a SEO since 2006 but still struggling to know that actual difference between Google Adwords and Google Organic Search!

I just want to know what exactly adwords behaviour when i am using google adwords and an seo on my website and search from same keywords that i have put in adwords and on in my website meta keywords tags.

As i experienced that — when i am search e.g. housekeeping (Adwords Campaign Keywords) then adwords don't display my organic search result at the top of the page.

    BUT

When i paused my adwords campaign and searching for keywords e.g. housekeeping them i found my organic search listing at the top of the page!

So, my question is very clear, Is Google Adwords and Google Organic search both are competitors in search.

How to answer to this thread!
Post exactly i asked to you, don't copy and paste.

    Hello,
I am too trying to research about it but as of now i can say that, the reason behind showing only one result in SERPs (either adowrds or Organic) might be that Google wants to present variety of results to users (This is just a guess). Similarly like Google doesn't display maps result in organic search.

    Hope this helps.

What I was figured in the past that when you set the AdWords, your organic traffic drops significantly, not sure if this could be due to people prefer to click on the paid link or any other reason.

I haven't done any adwords campaign but here's my thought.
I am not sure but most of the time I see ads on top, sometimes top and bottom when I search for something on google. But, most of the time I don't click the ads as majority of the people do so I won't get stress too much on that.
YES. Again, majority of the people don't click on the advertisment/adwords instead majority clicks the organic search results. Just like me when I search for something, I don't click ads on the search results that often. But now, the ads have more space compared before. This could be tough knowing that more and more people are now using mobile/tablet to surf the net and they have limited/small screen. Who knows if it will be filled up with google ads, then ads would have a high click-through rate. So organic traffic could drop.
