PR, search engine rankings and pages indexed in search engines fluctuate. Although, you can continue your SEO efforts, you can't stop the fluctuations from happening.

"you can't stop the fluctuations from happening."

Indeed. And this is the main reason S.E.O. never stops, and if it does your online business does too.

No PR is not associated with virus attack, there can be many reasons for this. One of the most important reason for this is that the back links that you have before might have been removed. This can be the main cause for you PR drop.

There was a PR update over the xmas period, so it's no surprise. Are you using duplicate content on your site? Are you selling links? Those are 2 key reasons why you may have lost PR.

How do you check your PR? If you use Google ToolBar, then its natural to see such fluctuations. Google updates its ToolBar PR values daily and hence you can encounter changes. If you use any other methods to check your PR, please specify. But one thing is for sure, its not a virus attack, so don't panic.

yes...virus attack can not change PR of the site... as per my experience...
By the way check your links plus also dnt use any black hat method or some duplicate content to your site.

Virus cant attack your PR. I experience that long ago. Maybe your browser catches the previous website's PR that you viewed.

Yes I checked PR of my site manually. One thing more is that since two consecutive years my site is on first page of google with my every keyword which I targeted. But its sudden change within a day my lost its position from every keyword. What will be the reason behind that. And now can anybody suggest me strategy for SEO. And what techniques I can use right now other then free directory submission, article submission, forum posting and social book marking.

Google just updated their PR ranking maybe your site has decreased its link popularity that is why it happened.

Don't worry much about your pr instead to your serp.
