Upon viewing your site I noticed that your title is very long, you should definitely
make it shorter. Your description in the meta tags is a bunch of keywords, you
should also change this, your description should be a sentence which describes
to your viewers what your site is about.

Your homepage meta description is not good. You have just keywords in there. The meta description is that short text that the user reads under your page title in Google results. It's very important. Say something like:"Here you can find information about computer programming..."

I have never run a forum, so I'm not exactly sure what works for forums, but it strikes me that their main advantage is that they have lots of long-tail text. So anything that gets more people to post helps to increase the number of SE queries you can rank for. So, your double AdSense banners at the top of the page may generate slightly more revenue in the short term, but every time someone clicks away at the top of the page they don't have the option to give you additional text. Try embedding your ads further down the page so that people can engage in the conversation before they click away.

In the header, I think "Your Source for > Programming >SEO... " is confusing. My initial thought was that "> Programming" would be a link to a sub-forum on programming. But the link simply points back to the homepage. Map those to individual forums. Better yet, record that so that it's text and the Search Engines can use that help map your navigation.

By far the most important part of SEO is your inbound links. I'm not sure what works to get good organic IBL for a forum -- but there's nothing that will give you a higher return on investment than figuring that out.

    Good luck!
    -Chris

Had a look at your site - yes the on page optimization could be better.
I had a brief look at your new forum too and got the impression you are some kind of expert on coding, php etc...

Why are you not aware of such simple things like proper on page optimization rules?

    Just a few quick things.

    - Index title too long, needs more focus. "Computer Programming Forums - Technical Talk" or similar would be fine. You use the various forum sections to more specifically target each type of forum section "C++ Forum" etc.
    - You aren;t using semantically rich HTML, that is - headings and formatting. Go visit the semantic extractor http://www.w3.org/2003/12/semantic-extractor.html and check your site out, thats a lot of what engines see. You need to have a single H1 on each page describing the contents of the page and underneath that H2 headings. For subheadings under the H2s, use H3 etc.
    - Your description meta is a bunch of keywords. It should be a simple sentence or two describing the site/page. The description is only used by search engines to place text next to results listings and should be human readable and entice the user to click the link.
    - Get your PHP session var out of the url and use mod_rewrite to create search engine friendly urls

    Thanks for all the replies.

    Those are really helpful.

What if I put Topic name in the Title for each thread in the forum? Will that help me?

For e.g. If the Title (Title meta tag) of the index page is "Computer Programming Forums - Technical Talk" and the there is a thread about 'Google Chrome', so the title of this thread page will be "Computer Programming Forums - Google Chrome - Technical Talk".

    Will this help me?
and the same thing about the meta Description Tag...

Also what should be the word count in the Meta Title Tag and Meta Description Tags?

    Thanks in Advance!

You should have a unique title for every single page.
(At least about 60% uniqueness, 80% is my personal suggestion. Same for meta description tag)
