I am looking for a solution for a client of ours. They are tracking sales through CJ, Linkshare, etc., as well as they have their own internal tracking measurements. After going a full fledged audit, they found that there are a few affiliates that are getting a huge amount of sales... low and behold they have some script that is cookie stuffing when you go to their sites. In any case the affiliates have been removed, but going forward they want to implement something to prevent this from happening again. Right now, if you go to their landing page from a PPC campaign, they want any cookie to be overwrote by their own affiliate ID. This is only on a specific page that the user would only come across by searching on Google or Yahoo for their terms, not through an affiliate link. Anyway, if someone has a script or can custom make one, please hit me up. Again, the point of this is for internal tracking not to alter affiliate numbers or sales.
To be honest, you're not going to get it fixed. Some of the top companies out there can be cookie stuffed, in fact, the majority of them. I'm sure they are aware of it too but there isn't much you can do.
yeah i second that but i wonder is there any new technique whereby they could cripple cookie stufing or make it detectable?
