I have an old .htm site that consists of about 600 pages. I need a few changes to be made to the code on each page. I can send you a zip file with all of the pages. Here is the psuedo code: First change (to be made on about 350 pages of the site): 1) open first .htm file 2) find this text: snipxx.txt 3) change it to: snip250.txt 4) save the file 5) open second .htm file 6) find this text: snipxx.txt 7) change it to: snip251.txt 8) save the file (notice that the number has been incremented) continue looping until all of the files have been updated (Yes, I was stupid enough to change the first 249 of them by hand) Second Change All of the pages lack meta description and meta keywords tags, so.... 1) go to a designated url. It is a text spinner that will produce a different set of the meta keywords tags each time the page is url is visited 2) scrape the meta keyword tags found at the url 3) open first file 4) insert the meta keyword tags 5) save the file 6) loop through until all the files are updated. 7) Do the same thing for the meta description tags ( gonna be a different url to produce the meta descriptions ). The deliverable item back to me is a zip file that contains all the updated .htm files as well as the script(s) that you used. I am trying to learn as I go.........
