Need recommendations for a free ecommerce CMS!

I'm a xhtml/css, php/mysql developer myself, but developing an ecommerce site is still something new to me (usually I just custom code it, not this time round), may I know if there's any good and free CMS out there?

    I've checked out this page:

    http://woork.blogspot.com/2009/01/8-interesting-cms-for-e-commerce.html

I've heard about CubeCart, ZenCart, Drupal.. PrestaShop is something new to me, but till today I have no idea which of them is a preferred choice. Can anyone kindly help me out with this? ;)

Most people say that Magento is the best of ecommerce website. But for installing magento there required so many PHP configuration, which is something problem with shared hosting. You can try any of the cms that you mentioned for developing ecommerce website.

Presently I am developing one ecommerce website using joomla-viruemart. The website is 99desires.com. It is now development stage. So you can also try joomla for your first ecommerce website development.

Magento is pretty hard indeed, I will recommend having a play with PrestaShop.

I could not even get Magento installed on my VPS. It gave me an error when I used the same configuration and even the same username/password to install Tomato Cart. Tomato Cart has a very interesting administration section that looks like the "Start Menu" from Windows. I installed it for a client and they enjoy it very much.

Magento looks really nice but if your new to webdesign it can be a bit overwhelming. Zen cart and prestashop are both easy to setup and maintain.

Try www.ezosc.com they have put all the work into developing a super shopping cart that has all of the bells an whistles built in. It is based off of the osCommerce framework so it is very robust.

    I can suggest this three:
    -magento
    -zencart
    -oscommerce
I do not know about the others but for me those are the best shopping cart software. You can check this shopping cart software site for more reliable information about this softwares.
