We just launched a shopping store with the home page - http://www.spritzworld.com/

For the first time user, it asks if you are Male or Female and based on your selection, it forwards you to a respective theme. and next time when you come, it will take you directly to your previous selection .

Now, I need some advice on how can optimize such home page which doesn't have much content on the first page for just first time .

    Much appreciated

    Thanks
    D

If your site does not have more contents on the first
but if it has catchy contents on the first page then you don't have to worry about
    that..

Just out of curiosity, what made you decide on the different templates? Wouldn't it have just been easier to work with one unisex template?

If you're concerned about the homepage, I would suggest this.

Add content to the homepage, make sure that it's relevant to the focus of your site. Place this content lower on the homepage, (below what's there already) and you should be alright.

With the site visitor's focus on the top of the page, I don't think they'll scroll to the bottom to read your content but the spiders will read it all. Make the content worthwhile, just in case a few visitor's do want to read it. Aside from the content, make sure that you direct your links to the homepage with the right anchor text, making sure that the anchor text you choose to use is relevant to the content written on the page.
