Need Radius Server? Help!

Discussion in 'Optigold ISP' started by nickeeboo, Mar 3, 2005.

Hi, I'm new to Optigold ISP and would like to know if it acts as a radius server or if it requires Radiator software.

I've downloaded it, can add users, but don't see how the logging in/out & monitoring comes in.

In the end, I want to be able to monitor, manage & cost users' time & bandwidth usage on a Web Site that they have to log in to.

Any responses will be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks in advance,
    nickeeboo

Optigold ISP can control your radius server, but it's not a radius server in itself.

i reccomend that if you have not set up a radius server before you use radiator. it takes a while to figure out but runs well unless you try to run it as a service in windows. the other options that you have there is to use a 2000 server machine or 2003 server and use windows internet authentication, it installs by default in 2k server and does work and is easy to create users just add them just like you would a computer user. the other option is to use free radius the upside is its free the bummer is that unless you love cryptic manuals it is definitely not one of the more friend

If you want to use really strong authentication with one time passwords, take a look at Cryptomas or Blackschield. Or Phonefactor which is very simple.
I'm can setup it for you.
