    hello,

yesterday i made hundreds of new campaigns with 20.000+ keywords.

My adwords tells me that the number of KWs reaches an non-manageable number.

My keywords for an adgroup look like this:

    "gadget x" exact
    [gadget x] phrase
"where to buy gadget x" exact
[where to buy gadget x] phrase
    "buy gadget x" exact
    [buy gadget x] phrase

    etc..etc

My question now is whether i can delete all the redundant (?) entries and just leave [gadget x] phrase-match...since [gadget x] would cover all other forms like 'where to get gadget x', 'buy gadget x online' etc..etc..

So basically [where to buy gadget x] is not needed since i already have a phrase-match with 'gadget x' in it ?!?!

--> how do i know i can just delete the other entries...and how do i know it would be wise (or not) to leave in keywords like [buy gadget x] ??? Of course i DO want to cover all eventualities so my ads pop up when someone searches for 'gadget x prices' or 'where to buy gadget x cheap'

    thanks,

    georg.

Personally, I'd run the campaign with some of these keywords in, then after a few weeks, delete anything without a single impression. Even if they are good keywords, you'll see so few conversions that they wouldn't be worthwhile, even if you could optimise them.

That should clear out about 80% of your keywords, possibly more, and you could add some more in then...
