Need Quick CSS Fix

    Hi I need someone with knowledge in css and maybe magento to help me with my css issue. I am trying to put an image in the header and footer of my index page but I am having some trouble. Basically I need the image to cover the entire width of the page from left to right but currently the image only covers a portion of the page and not the whole width. Should be a simple fix but I cant do it, so can you help? Thanks.
