I'm not sure if this is the exact thread forum i need to post in, but i can't find any better one. Basically what i wanted to ask was if there was a way to hide my servers ip? Like somekind of file or something. The reason for this is that I set up around 11 proxy sites yesterday, and they worked fine at my school, but it seems today they are all blocked. Since they are all under different accounts (I got a reseller account) but still share the same Ip, i believe it's an ip wide ban. I think it's possible, that since my hoster is known to allow proxies, the Ips associated with it are getting blocked quicker.
Hi Hades, I guess the quick answer is no. You cant hide your servers IP as the IP is required for DNS servers to map your domain name to your servers IP address. Network admins can block proxys by two methods. Firstly they can block your domain name and all sub domains under it. Then they can block the IP address to the server, that mean all websites hosted on that server will be blocked. What most proxy owners do, is regularly add new proxies to there network, maybe across different ip addresses. Some hosting companies let you purchased multiple IP's for your account, but again i guess its a matter of time before these are blocked aswell. Hope this helps. cumminsj
Ok thanks. There is one thing i wanted to ask, Since i have a reseller account, when i create acocunts i can choose wheather they have to be ip accounts or not (at least i think) So far i've chosen thema ll to be ip accounts, but should i make them non-ip accounts? I use whm to manage it all.
....NO they don't. Why don't you go and read my blog post again and then read the comment i left you. Maybe that will help clear it up for you.
