    Hello,

I've a 3 months old domain and I want to make it PR 5. So how many links should I buy? Please be more specific...

About how many PR 1, PR 2, PR 3 and so on will I need?

I know that its impossible to say but each of us have our own view right? So please share some insights....

Well if you think you need a PR5? Than PR 1, PR 2, PR 3 and so on links will not do a lot to get you to PR5..

You would need a few good PR6 or PR7 links to get PR5, there Ace.

First of all, why do you need to be PR5? PR is only important if you want to sell ads. It does not translate into search engine rankings or traffic.

Relying heavily on paid link is a bad idea. Google can penalize you for buying or selling links. Doing this leads to an unstable website....unstable PR & unstable search engine rankings.

It would be very tough to get to PR5 with just PR1-3 links. You would need a massive amount of those low ranked links. You would really need some links from PR6-8 websites. It is impossible to say exactly how many though. Just gradually build up your links and you should get there in time (if Google doesn't penalize you first).

I think it would be much better to worry about search engine rankings and traffic instead.

I make a domain pr5 for my client recently. and for this , i did over 150 articles. 20 press release and 7000 back links from pr1 to p4. and in that niche top old companies have pr4. and if i do this for some IT or webmaster niche, i can get pr6 . if that site update daily with new contents.

I agree that PR is a waste of breath if you are not in the link selling business. I have a new site that is placed 3rd on the 1st page of serps and has a PR of 0. I am anxious to see what the PR will be after april 1st but it really mans nothing to position or traffic.

I definitely would not recommend strictly paying for links. That's probably going to lead to issues with google, and honestly, if the site is worth anything to you, why try to avoid the work involved in getting quality links? I'm not sure I understand the urgency of attaining a PR5?

I don't understand why people always get in debate if PR is important or not. It is important to the thread starter and he simply needs your opinion.

    I would say get 5 PR1, 6 PR2, 7 PR3, 4 PR4 and that will get you PR 4 or 5.

    LOL ..

PR Juice (rank) doesn't flow uphill dude.

Your recipe there would likely turn a PR3 and that is if the other on page and other SEO factors are in good shape?

+rep for that. He didn't ask if PR is important. Who doesn't want a PR5?

To the OP: I suggest finding very high quality sites with PR4-PR7 & getting a backlinks. Make sure they are relevant with your sites content as well.

try to get a PR6 or PR7 backlink, one that is very relative to your website.

make sure you have a lot of backlinks from directories, and smaller PR0-PR3 websites to hold your ranking so no one can come behind you and steal the ranks.

I don't want a PR5... Aiming for high PR is a waste of time....

Spend your time going after SERP(s), and traffic. PR is useless unless you want to rip people off selling overpriced links.

No, he didn't ask that. Perhaps he doesn't know that it isn't important. Perhaps, some people don't want him to waste his time chasing a magic number which means or does nothing, besides fill up a bar on your screen with some nice green coloring.

Please dont tell me that PR is NOT IMPORTANT...

It is of course important... I dont intend to sell text links.

    But consider the situation.

I launched a new site.. and optimized all the contents and keywords...

now suppose there is a site in the same niche with a PR 4 or 5... Now who would be on top in SERPs? My site or the other?

That's the point... By PR shows the Quality of backlinks... If Google gave me a PR 5 and it stays PR 5 all the time then its good.

Thats my point. My site would be on top if those contents are unique. But if its a service website then a reputation is a must.

I have a PR0 site with authority links outranking PR3-5 sites.

PR does not mean anything. You enjoy your PR, I will enjoy my SERP(s) and traffic. Unless you are selling links, a high PR will not make you any money.....

If you are looking for an estimation of the amounts of link you need from websites with different pageranks then search "pagerank table" in google images

PR does look nice on sites, but thats about it. It doesn't actually do anything in the Search Engines. For example, I have a PR0 site which is ranking above PR3+ sites, it really has no effect.
