Can you give a more detailed description of what it is exactly you're looking for? If you're just wanting a search feature to put onto some pages, it's really not that overly complex, you just have it in a database, store it with a fulltext index and then run a query over it, 10 minutes worth of work.
No. The site already has search. I'm looking for a widget to be built that people could load in their OS X dashboard or iGoogle homepage or whatever, that they could enter their query, and it returns the search results within the widget.
So you are looking for a site search web service running in an iframe? Key part being it's just your site you want searched.
It's kinda how I view it,yes. Meant to say "constrained viewport", iframe was easier to type. Are you happy with the search results provided by your current setup? If so, odds are it could be replicated and the results for the widget customized without any heavy coding.
No, I'm not happy with the current search. It's incomplete. If you're an experienced coder and you feel you could take this on, PM or skype me and I can explain further. It would mean more work on top of this as well.
