I need someone that can use the Google maps API and do yahoo search result extraction. This will be a project but will involve creating a database with several million entries, so I need someone that can optimize well for that. Also, you need to be able to use multiple IPs to get around API rate limits. Please PM me with your previous experience if you can do this.
Have you found anyone yet? This is something we could do, but something we have not done before. Have a few good ideas to make it work well. Would probably quote a bit more to do this, however would be willing to get this done for you, for your price, if you're not in a big hurry, as we'd need a few extra days for testing etc. Let me know if you still need a hand.
I would much rather get someone with experience, but how much more would you quote? I had someone else do a similar project for 150$ before, so I don't think 200$ is that low for this.
Well it really depends on what you call experience. Do you hire a different carpenter, because this particular one has spent 30 years using only Fir, and you want your stairs built out of pine? We work on projects that start in the 4 figure range and up, generally speaking. We always like to learn new things and enjoy challenges, it's part of how we're able to offer our clients such comprehensive and feature rich sites and software. We'd be happy to take on this project for your requested price, as a learning experience for us, as long as you are not in a huge rush. Chances are, we will have somebody on the line, who has the specific experience with this particular API offering some Q&A etc. We've done many similar things before, just not this one specifically. All the websites we make, are usually database driven, one of the sites we made in the past was like a priceline type site, where it had to pull information from hundreds of databases/sites over the internet, compile databases in real time and delegate the information accordingly. We have much related experience, but will just need a bit of extra time to familiarize ourselves with the specifics, not to 'see if we can do it' or try something out. If we take on the project, it will be just like any other contract, you are guaranteed the proper end result, and we continue working until every t is crossed and every i is dotted.
