I tried to get others to participate in this design in the Contests forum but no one seem to be biting. So I am trying to do it myself.

Here is my first stab at it... this label would be printed on a glossy label and wrapped around a black glossy plastic tub. It is for a automotive wax product.

I want all opinions on the colors, the carbon fiber pattern, fonts, layout, everything. The more opinions the better.

    Is this one "too much"?

The first one looks nice and sleek, far better than the second one that looks kinda, yes "too much".

They look nice.. I like the 2nd one and the styles on it.

For product labels they much have a little too much styles and effects. Usually product labels should be able to be read from far away at a quick glance. Those might be hard to read at a glace far away with the checkerboard and the reflections.

I do like the chrome I’m a fan of chrome.

I like the first one the most! give it another try, post the project on the Contests forum, I'll enter ;) also I'd remove the reflex even though the design is for a wax.
