Hey there, I'm trying to figure out the best price to sell an ebook I'm writing. It's an ebook entitled, "Start a Successful Freelance Writing Career in 30 Days" and features a day by day outline with everything the person needs to do on a daily basis to start making money as a freelance writer. Covers everything from setting up email accounts, paypal, what type of samples to write, rates to charge, everything. The whole thing is going to be right around 15 pages, which is a total of about 12-13k words. What do you think would be a reasonable price to sell this for and is the book a good idea? Do you think there would be interest in something like that?

Or, I could also ask, what do you think would be the best thing to do with a guide like this? Would putting it up on sites like associated content and ezinearticles be a good idea to make revenue? I've never seen anything like this online before, so I think it could do well, but I'm not sure what to do with it now that I have it written.

I believe the content creation might be the wrong place for this thread. Maybe the copyright board might be better. I would try selling it anywhere between $12-$20 and offer a small discount to begin with.

Sorry, I was guessing at the best place to post this and figured here to be the best. My apologies. Also, I meant if I were to just sell the book to someone else to sell instead of me trying to sell it off.

Ah, ok. Maybe a flat rate of between $75-$100 or more then if it's for that many words of course you could remind them at how much money they could make for it and might be able to sell it for like $150 or so...don't know if I've been much help lol.

Honestly, if you don't know how to set your own rates, it might be hard to sell an ebook claiming expertise on having a freelancing career...

I would advise that you set it at somewhere $27-$37 because the average person looking to start a freelancing career would not be too glad to put so much of money in it. IMO it's not only about the size of the book but also about what your target audience is gonna go for.

An affiliate program (clickbank, click2sell) can help you with sales . Click2sell does not charge an upfront and charges money per sale. If you do go for the affiliate marketing of your book, I'd advise that you price it at least $37.

PS: Also try it selling in the DP's BST > ebooks section. Give out a free copy to some reputed member and maybe you'd make a few sales. But IMO you'd need to keep the prices low for the DP sale. You can call it "DP Exclusive Sale" :D

Hope that helps. Best of Luck with your book !

Thanks very much everyone, some great tips. I really want to make a comprehensive guide that people can benefit from, not just something to profit off of.
