I am currently not sure about the decision I would made. I would like my wordpress blog to have much greater looking than the current one. I am not sure if I should only redesign header or a whole theme or make a static front page instead. The current theme is ok but not that attractive and I think I should have something unique in the looking of my blog. I am not sure if I started this thread in a right place or not but I would like to ask opinion from designers here directly. I am still hesitate about redesign the whole theme because I had a bad experienced from some designer here. I will not disclose whom but he had delivered me a garbage one and did not give any revision possibly. Just like "take it or you won't get anything". Too bad because I paid him in full upfront, he is also not delivered a theme in a promised time too.
I think you must get the theme changed. The current theme is okay but its not that attractive and I guess a header too would add to the look. Although it all depends on your budget but at least a good design is required. and about the designer, here at design point you will find many designers.. but everybody is not the same... don't get disheartened and in future be careful. I definately think it needs updating, but it's not horrible. As for your designer, the only suggestion I could give, is not pay upfront until the design you want has been made. If you had waited to pay him, I bet anything he would have done the revisions to get the cash. Not all designers are like that, but unfortunately some ruin the reputation of all designers here.
yes, your blog needs a re-design.. and, i agree with kimkiyaa that some designers spoil the reputation of all designers.. on second thoughts, you should have paid him as per the progress i.e. after designing is completed then 1/3 of the payment, after coding 1/3rd of the payment and after full completion rest of the payment.. well, thats my 2 cents
In this matter I would like to say that your blog sure does need a redesign along with an eye catching header to boot. As for the Designers at DP who are not honest in delivering their goods there are some customers too who do not bother to pay up once the designs have been given to them..... I can say this because I have been not paid for some of the designs I did for a few dishonest customers.... but I have learnt my lesson now... and always WM my designs......So it is a balance..
Thank you for all your suggestions. I have decided to redesign a whole theme and discussing with some designer here. I hope to find a good and honest designer here finally.
.. :/ with all the respect.. do you really need a review or just visitors? ... + it isn't a blog at all but a semi-professional website.
