Google basically drop kicked us and then ran us over with a Mac truck. On May 16th, Pro Baseball Insider dropped from averaging 4,000 impressions a day in Google's organic SERP to 500 impressions. On June 1, it dropped to zero. Previously, our young website (launched officially in January 2012) was gaining traffic steadily. zero to 15,000 monthly visitors in just a couple months. Now, we've flatlined at zero, according to GA. I can only think that Penguin or some other algorithm update has worked against us, but I have not been able to figure out the problem. We have never participated in link exchanges, spamming or automatic link building, buying links, link farms or any other such obviously frowned upon practices. We have always focused on provided high quality content for our human visitors. I have tried to optimize the on page stuff just so the right people can find us when they are looking. We have about 250 good content pages, with about 15 product pages. The 15 product pages have nofollow affiliate links on them. Suggestions as to the cause have included: Lack of quality backlinks meta descriptions are too long too high keyword density on a few pages (would the entire site be penalized if only a few pages have a high keyword density?) And yet others have told me that none of these things should be the reason for such a dramatic loss of traffic. I have already applied to Google for reconsideration, and their response was that no manual action had been taken against our site. Please review my site. I am desperate for someone to help me figure out the problem, and so many people have already told me they have no idea why this has happened to us. Sincere thanks, Sarah
I would just give it some time. The penguin update has benefited a lot of websites that were otherwise low in SERP's giving them a boost. Your site is unique ,so don't worry things will be back to normal in a few weeks.
