Hi, I am helping out a friend with a site and he would like a way to collect user input when users are at an amusement park. Overview: Would be used by customers at amusement Parks to record how long they wait in line. Users enters Name, Date, Time, Park Name, Ride Name, Wait Time, Weather Conditions, and Comments and hits submit. This is just a one page form you would see on your WAP phone or iPhone / Blackberry. The form just records data people enter and stores the data in a MySQL database. User Experience. A user goes to the mobile site URL and gets a simple WAP / Mobile page on their phone with data entry fields. This needs to work on WAP and Mobile phones (blackberry and iphone) Mobile / WAP Form Fields: Date (MM/DD/YY) Pre-filled with current date but user can edit Time (HH:MM AM/PM) Pre-filled with current time but user can edit Name: (Text Field ) Allows numbers and letters Park Name: (Drop Down with 10 park names to choose from) I can supply the park names for the drop down. Attraction Name: (Drop Down) This Auto populates based on the Park Name the user selected above. Number of rides can be 10 – 50 depending on the Park Name Selected. I can supply the attraction names and what Park they are tied to. Wait Time: (text field) or drop down, wait times range from zero to 2 ½ hours in 5 min intervals. Example: 0, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 25 min.. 1 hr 5 min, 1 hr 10 min, etc. Conditions: (Drop down Box) Allows user to pick if it is raining, hot, special event, etc. Comments: Free form field comment box allows 250 characters max Submit button: records data in database and sends a thank you prompt to the user. And then reloads the form blank so they can enter data again for the next ride. Clear button: Clears the form Help Icon – Clicking / Selecting the icon opens a new text page that explains to the user about the application and how to use it, contact info. Clicking / Selecting Close returns them back to the data entry main screen. I can provide the copy for the help screen Design: Needs to be simple, quick to load, easy to use on a standard mobile phone. Web Admin (Not on mobile phone): Ability to edit data in drop down menus (Parks, Rides, Conditions). This can be as simple as being able to edit the HTML, XML or text files and resaving them. This is so these fields can be updated later as needed and displayed on the mobile phones. I would just need directions on how to do this. Ability to access data saved in MYSQL and display it in Microsoft Excel so reports can be run by date, time, park, ride, etc. Again this could be as simple as just writing down directions for me on step by step how to do this. I'll do it for 50$ in few days. If you want it in one day, I could give up my other activities for some extra $. I have a lot of experience with HTML, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, MYSQL, AJAX. I think that my HTML and PHP/MYSQL knowledge is enough for this project. For testing I can use my PPC (HTC P3300 Artemis), my ex-SPV (SPV C600/HTC Tornado) and some other phones I've got access to: NOKIA 6500, SAMSUNG M600.
