I'm pretty sure that the same spiders that crawl the sites within the US are the ones that crawl chinese websites. As far as I know (don't hold me to this though) website optimisation is exactly the same for chinese websites as it is for US websites. However, if you are an american trying to SEO a website that is in chinese, it is highly recommended that you are fluent in that language, or have a darn good translator. I have never had very good luck with translations.
